Food & Beverage Reviews

  • Orange Bird Churro ($7): This was actually pretty good! Orange flavored churros are a bit weird, and they were pretty dry, but we loved the orange slice candies! Located at the Main Street Snack Cart near Liberty Square

  • Ginger Apple Funnel Cake ($7.99): This was the biggest letdown of the night. We understand that they were being made in bulk so the funnel cake was going to cool down a little, but the whole thing was cold, including the cooked apple topping. The apples were also undercooked and hard. We would not recommend this one! Located at Sleepy Hollow.

  • Apple Cider Float ($5.99): This tasted good, but was nothing special, basically just apple juice with ice cream on top. Located at Sleepy Hollow.

  • Gingerbread Almond Cake Pop ($4.99): This cake pop is so cute! it was bigger than we expected and tasted great too! Out of all the paid snacks at the event, this was our favorite, but it still wasn't that spectacular. Located at Golden Oak Outpost

  • Snickerdoodle Cookie (Complimentary): Provided by Cheryl's Cookies, this Snickerdoodle was really good! It had a nice chewy texture and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Multiple Locations.

  • Peppermint Chocolate Marshmallow (Complimentary): We got this as we were exiting the park, so be sure not to miss it if you're leaving with a big crowd! This is so cute and would be great in some hot cocoa.

Entertainment Reviews

  • Mickey & Minnie's Very Merry Memories: This show is adorable! It is shown 4 times throughout the party and is about fifteen minutes long. (9:25pm, 10:35pm, 11:45 pm, and 12:50am)

  • Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade: This is the first opportunity to watch a full length parade at Walt Disney World since before shutdown, and we loved it! We much prefer this format to the calvacades that have become a mainstay at Walt Disney World post pandemic. There are 2 parades during the after hours event, and we watched them both from different locations (9:45pm and 12:05am). We HIGHLY recommend watching the parade from Main Street, where the lighting is best and artificial snow will be falling!

  • Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show: Fireworks are shown once during the event at 11:15pm, and they are fabulous! The music is great and there are gorgeous holiday layovers projected on the castle.

Other Event Benefits

  • Club Tinsel Dance Party: There is a DJ in Tomorrowland during the event sharing the stage with Stitch (in his adorable Santa outfit). People were stopping by the stage to dance with Stitch, and the benches around here are a great place to sit down for a while and enjoy the Holiday tunes.

  • Holiday PhotoPass Pictures: There are holiday event accessories and some special Magic Shots that you can get from PhotoPass photographers throughout the event!

Final Thoughts

This event was so much fun, and it finally felt like the Holiday magic was back Disney World! If you have been missing parades as much as we have, then this is the event for you. In our opinion, this event was executed far better than the After Hours Boo Bash for Halloween earlier this year, so if you were disappointed by that one (which we were), that doesn't mean you won't enjoy Very Merriest! We were not that impressed with the event-exclusive food items available for purchase, but the free cookies, popcorn, ice cream, hot cocoa, an soft drinks are plenty if you ate dinner before arriving. The entertainment is really the star of this event, and, although it is very expensive ($249/person for the events closest to Christmas), we would still recommend this to anyone who loves parades and firework shows, as this is your only opportunity to see these shows before December 21st. Happy Holidays everyone!
